COMMAND Video while driving

Curious if possible to watch DVDs while driving. It's not for me, but when on long trips it would great for my wife to be able to watch and to also key in a location to the navigator. I found video in motion website but 2009 SL 550 not supported. Any other options?

I use the Mods-4-cars module.

http://www.mods4cars.com/sms/shop/in...ode=view&id=53

This allows me my passenger to watch digital TV & DVD whilst in motion on my MY2005 SL55. Works Great.

I note that the description says that it works on all R230 (MY 2001-2012)

Reportedly, a c. $300 Chinese-cloned Star Diagnosis can enable video-in-motion by way of its Developer mode.

Ivan it's easy. You just give them your VIN#, download 10 files to an SD card and then follow these instructions:

At this point you should have the SD card ready to use in the car. The actual installation will be very easy:

1) Start the car and after the radio unit will be operable, insert the SD card.
2) Wait ca. 2-3 minutes. There will be no change on the screen, that is normal.
3) Remove the SD card and check if the DVD plays while you drive the car.

Works great very happy with it!

Assuming "my friend" had access to one of these DAS machines, could you recommend the where that option would be in the navigation? I've looked before on "his" computer and could not find it.

Thanks

My '03 cars can not play DVDs at all, so I don't know what setting you would change for your car. I'll emphasize that in my prior post I wrote "reportedly" this can be activated, and I should add that that comes from a web document describing some of the capabilities of Developer mode, and they were general and not specific to any particular chassis.

NO LONGER ACTIVE
Poking around in SDS with deverloper mode for COMAND NTG2, I found some settings that may be relevant. It looks like you can enable TV and DVD through them. I have not tried this, and don;t have a car to with NTG2 to experiment on, but it's what iI found:
