SL/R230: Coilover time
I would never speculate on a cars future value.
I bought it because it was my dream car growing up and I LOVE driving it.
Those that can afford to fix it will almost always choose to keep it original.

And those cars will be more valuable, in the end.

That is an interesting prediction which I don't see happening. When I purchased my 2004 Sl500 I was thrilled knowing I didn't have to spend 2 grand on top of the price of the car to make it a safe reliable car without worries of a collapse on the interstate. Let's face it the car has a terrible reputation with that ABC Suspension. .
And in the end, the original car setup will be highly prized by the collector, as they ALWAYS are.
That 'terrible reputation" is built on a small % of the cars affected. (at this point). The internet makes that fear about X1000 times worse.
Next to NOBODY needs 10K in ABC repairs. Most of us will fix 1 or 2 components during our ownership. Maybe.
But the one that does is NATIONAL news and re-posted EVERYWHERE.
You paniced types have done the market a great service making these cars more affordable to everyone.
