Transmission engagement

Hello, I have noticed that if my 2007 SL55 is started and shifted into drive or reverse rather quickly that the transmission will engage start to move then disengage and engage again. My question is do any of you think that it is do to a valvebody needing to be replaced or would a simple filter and fluid service do the trick. Only asking because I will do all at the same, valvebody solenoids electrical plug and connector fluid and filler. Thank you in advance .

I'd first try a fluid and filter change. Also, does it only do this when cold, or anytime after the engine is started and everything is already warmed to operating temp?

OK, the first thing i;d do is a transmission service. Low or dirty fluid can cause that.
