Key cylinder removal - bootlid

Can anyone advise how to remove the key cylinder in the boot lid ( operates (or DOESNT) to make manual opening of trunk possible

I think you may need the little metal key inserted into the lock cylinder in order to remove it. And if you have the key, then you can turn the key to a position which should allow you to open the trunk lid.

Hi.......

When you are trying to open the trunk, are your turning the key AND pulling the release handle at the same time? If you don’t do both actions the trunk won’t release manually.

Sadly noone of the above the key doesnt operate ( rotate) the cylinder bringing the gadget into line to effect the manual release -- need to strip it right out ( almost as if it is the wrong key)
