SL/R230: How to remove this coolant connection?

How to remove this coolant connection?
Here is the coolant hose for the lower radiator, I cant seem to get this connection off, can anybody help me here? I removed this ring wrapped around the connection and tried forcing it out but it doesnt want to detach. There is the same connection on the other side of the radiator. Also when I removed transmission hose, none of the fluid leaked out, is this normal? How do I check tranny oil level? Any help would he great.

Do you have a reason to remove the part in the picture? Those are best left alone . If you do remove it it might cause more of a problem for you.. Your transmission oil can only be checked at operating temp .Or 10 min drive ,

Well nothing to loose, if removing it to repl;ace - just prize it off with a pair of screwdivers . I would use a brake hose clamp on trany pipes before you open them up to stop oil escaping ar plug them up ..
