How to program beep/chirp/sound when locking doors?
Hi, I have seen a number of posts that it can be done using DAS/STAR but I can't find it in the tool menus - can someone who has done it post the actual menu steps?
(I've read about the siren hardware changes, the SmartTop etc - but I'm interested in using the STAR to configure it, thanks!)

On a RHD car it is :-
Body>Dr-side SAM>Control Unit Adaption>Read Coding and change ...>National Version of ATA Function then set this to 'Netherlands'
To adjust volume:-
Body>Dr-side SAM>Development Data>Control Unit Adaptions>Control Unit Adaptions (Variant coding)>Change EDW-Buzzer_Laustarke

For those of you unfamiliar, the alarm siren, which includes the locking and unlocking signals, goes bad over time. The internal batteries die. The part is $125 on FCP Euro and is easily replaced in the driver’s front wheel well.
125$ is a RIP OFF

I agree it’s a total rip off, but that’s the price for the part. If you want to mess around with soldering in new Varta batteries with the circuit board often already destroyed by acid, that’s an option, too.

2005 R 230 SL350 (M112 3.7). Sold the 1966 W113 230SL recently
Varta’s are dead cheap and soldering was no problem at all. The circuitry can just be brushed off, no problem there. Beep Beep!
