SL/R230: 7 speed auto limp home problem

04 MBZ SL500
7 speed auto limp home problem
04 500SL with 11.5K. Transmission began locking into a low gear. Check engine light came on while heading to dealer. Diagnosis is valve pack defect. Part on order. Anyone have similar experience with 7 speed? PS has been babied, not abused. Have liked transmision otherwise as it seems to be in torque sweet spot most time. Does shift a lot. It had a noticeable delay shifting from D to R for some time thou. Maybe the beginning symptom?

Gentlemen, in praticular the California resident, it may be lemon law time. Do not lose your rights. If that California SL500 is less than 18 months old and less than 18,000 miles, I would get a replacement 2005 car or take the cash payout and run.
