Newbie needs help with manual top
1999 SL500----Hydraulic fluid sprayed straight up in the air on rear passenger side needTo manually put on hard top, I found the levers but the one on driver side in back is in the lock position and moving the lever does not move the lock to the open position, the prong on the hardtop cannot go down and latch. Can anyone help.

How can I get the lock mechanism in the unlock position, everything was working great till the hydraulic leak.

With the lock assembly removed you ought to be able to figure how to get it to open. However, since the lever seems not to work I don't see how you will be able to lock it.
Another option is to send the leaking cylinder to TopHydaulics.com for repair.

Question, in order to lock the back of the hard top , do you just push down on the corner of the hard top.
