Unhappy 2005 SL 500 A/C F23 fuses keeps blowing

Hello everyone!

New to this, let me start from the very beginning. I bought this car three months ago everything was perfect for about 1 month and 3 weeks when one day driving home the a/c control just turned off no lights. I immediately thought to my self simple let me check the fuse (F23) and sure enough it was blown. I said no sweat let me just replace, so i got a new fuse and popped right in as soon as i touched the fuse to contacts BAM! fuse blew. Now I'm like okay great i discounted the a/c control module and plugged fuse in an it didn't blow next. I then assumed okay the a/c control was bad since it is a common issue bought a new one plugged in and still has the same issue fuse keeps blowing. At this point I now assume there is a short. I took it to a mechanic that has has had my car now for over a month and says he cant figure it out after diagnosing it for 17 hours he even tried changing out the SAM Module in the front driver side in engine bay and still nothing. I went up there today and asked him to give me my car back because he is obviously incompetent and has no clue what he is doing then suggested I take my car back all pulled apart so that the next mechanic can look at it I told him absolutely not put my **** back together.

I know that was a lot but can anyone shed some well needed light on this subject?

The first thing I would do is measure resistance from the load side of fuse #23 to chassis ground with the fuse removed. If there is no wire shorting out you ought to have a fairly high measurement. If that checks out, then I would unplug the coolant circulation pump, since it is also powered by fuse #23.

Did you solve problem? i've found out today same problem with my sl. Its doesnt look like the short is on power line. It looks like some component connected to AC steering panel has problem.
