Any here knows what this loose clip found inside the rear brake rotor, park brake?

I have a friend that owns an early Mercedes SL500, R230 that told me that his SL had started having kind of an whining sound coming from what he said was inside the rear brake rotors where the park brake shoes sits and he was now on is way to check it out

I talked to him about an hour later today and he told me that one of the brake shoes was loose so that might be the cause for the whining sound
But here is the thing i wonder about
He found a loose clip inside one of the rear rotors and he could not understand where it is supposed to sit.

Thinking that the clip was laying loose inside the rear rotor i would assume it belongs inside the rotor somewhere since it is impossible for a clip to "accidental fall" inside a brake rotor

To me the clip looks kind a like an clip used on the brake lines/brake hoses

I have tried to find it online but with no luck. I have never had the rear brake rotors off my car either since they where new when i bought the car

I thought it might be a clip used to attach the brake shoes for the park brake

Any here knows what this clip that was laying loose inside one of the rear brake rotors are for?

It is the clip in the picture below

This is the loose clip that was laying inside the one of the rear brake rotors which my friend found when he was going to replace the park brake shoes on his SL, R230

Looks similar to the clips that are used to hold in the pins that retain a brake shoe. But I've never torn into the parking brakes on an R230.

Here is a picture of the mounting kit for attaching the brake shoes for the park brake inside the rear brake rotors on a Mercedes SL, R230

I cant say that i can see any clip looking like the loose clip i posted a picture of

Park brake shoes mounting kit for Mercedes SL, R230 if the webiste that sells the kit shows the item in question and not a standard picture of a mounting kit

Updated
I used the VIN of my car and had a look at the Mercedes parts film and there you can clearly see the clip

The clip is marked with a red arrow pointing towards it

The clip that was found loose must be clip 470 marked with a red arrow

This is the clip that was loose inside the brake rotor and it for sure looks like clip part 470 marked with a red arrow
