It is possible that your blower wheel came loose from the shaft. The squealing might have been it rubbing the housing or slipping on the shaft and it is now likely totally broken loose. I would start by dropping the blower and taking a look at it. It is under the dash on the passenger side, just remove the under dash cover and then then unbolt the blower. You could also have issues with the blend door servos or the control, but those would be more difficult to diagnose without a proper tool.

No, sorry. You do not need the item pictured, I just linked it to show you where the blower attaches. I'm not sure what year your car is, but I believe that the RH drive P/N's for the blower are 2308200314 up to chassis 131515 and 2038202614 for chassis 131516 and up. Not sure if the two can be interchanged, but there are aftermarket parts that seem to fit all years. Here is an ebay link for the early RH drive part for reference: I would check your local used part and aftermarket sources, but first remove it and verify it is the problem.
