Mpow Wireless Bluetooth Adapter-2005 R230
Hi folks. I saw a 2003 SL55 AMG for sale that has a Mpow bluetooth adapter installed. For 2005, I don’t believe mine has an aux input. Does anyone else have experience with how it could be attached? OBD? Thanks in advance for your input.

The 03 and 04 models have the AUX input since they used the old Comand 2.0 (Not APS NTG version Comand systems). Idk if it's possible to add AUX to a Comand-APS 1.0 NTG on W215/W220/R230 models (Others may be able to chime in). It's weird cause the W211/W219/R171 have AUX and they use the same Comand unit version.

Summary of connections I have to the stock Comand system is now:
- AUX In
- Bluetooth Music Streaming
- DAB Radio
- Bluetooth phone calls
- USB
- CD
- DVD
I have a YouTube Channel called 'GrooveOn' where I provided help on installing the adaptor and how to use it with the Comand system to help you:

This seems like a lot of trouble to go through when you can use this adapter. Not only is the audio quality excellent, the phone calls, and it provides 2 phone charger outputs one which is a fast charger. For 25.00 dollars. BTW my 2004 Sl500 has no AUX input.

Twice now, on my now previous S and SL, after radio/component upgrades, I had all kinds of weird electrical issues after. One was done by an indy and another by Best Buy. Sounded great but electrical gremlins all of the sudden appeared...SAM issues, blown fuses, dying battery etc....costly electrical repairs over and over again
Coincidence? maybe. After that nightmare I vowed to not mess with stock equipment again

Also who wants this ugly thing sticking out from their dash on a luxury SL, you can't close your ashtray?

Hmm., Are you kidding me? Sorry for being blunt but that's like comparing Am and FM radio quality, I've used these toy adaptors they are okay for maybe listening to pod casts, but the sound is dire compared to the real deal, I guess it depends how into your music you are....

Went out in the 90s? You still need a cable with what you have and what I was talking about. And My 25 dollar ( not 8 dollar ) Adapter has a volt meter too. But the bottom line is It is a Luxury Car but it is far from a Luxury SoundSystem.

2005 R 230 SL350 (M112 3.7). Sold the 1966 W113 230SL recently
I am so old that I listen to CD’s, and I decided to pick up a cradle from eBay to use an ancient Nokia I had laying around (forwarding from mobile). Thinking: we’ll see what comes next. I must say the stock microphones are excellent, phone quality is 100% also with the top down. Navigation with the latest dvd surprisingly works just fine. As for music, I am scratching myself reading AE1K’s story - just let it be, or modernize? I guess I’ll be lazy again this year.
