My first post is a question re: 1979 280SL. Admin. Please post to the correct site
SubscribeHi everyone. I am new to this forum. I am strongly considering buying a 1979 280SL. I am a jag owner presently and a 1972 corvette stingray. So I am aware of old car quirks.
Is the 1979 280SL reliable? The car appears to be in very good condition. Has no rust and has been garaged in the winter. Has 100k miles. I know the AC does not work and has not been converted to new refrigerant. What cost am I looking at for that? I live in California and worried about passing smog test. On my jag I get the dreaded “fail safe code”. Does MB have that? Does the model after a tuneup generally pass smog tests?
Lastly, what is a fair price for one? As described above.
Thank you so much !
