After 2 years of ownership today I came round to fixing the sun sensor. Cleaning its connector apparently did the job, for now. Readout (on a scanner) in the sun is quite accurate. This must be the least useful gadget in our cars. Why would anyone conjure up the notion that two people would want exactly the same reaction on sun direction and intensity? Just can’t figure, but at least it’s working now.
