I purchased a 2003 SL500 (R230). It has 2 Wireless keys. One key works fine. The other key doesn't work.
Yes, I put new batteries in the key. When you push ANY of the buttons, the red light does NOT come on.
I would assume it had some liquid cross its path. I don't need it; I have the other key,
but if someone could repair the key, I would greatly appreciate it. Not sure of how much to fix it..

This company can sell you a new fob. Very nice quality. They can recommend locksmiths in your area that can program it. They cannot do keyless go.was my experience with the locksmith I used. Personally I would not want only one working key.

As far as I know, only Mercedes can provide a programmed replacement from VIN and that comes with Mercedes pricing. Anyone else will either need the car or the EIS sent in. Given the work required to remove the EIS and the risk of sending it in and hoping to get it back, I would strongly recommend a local locksmith. You might need to call a few for Mercedes work, but try to find a local.

I just ordered a NEW Key Fob from Car and Truck Remotes. I will find a locksmith, & have them program it. A whole lot less expensive that the dealer. Thanks for the help!

My pleasure! My guy was in Orlando. I had to drive there about an hour away. And I met him with his truck. Many are using mobile services. also Car and Remotes has a list of locksmiths but none on the list were in my area. So I had to search myself.
