dashboard bubbling

Hi, I recently purchased a 2004 sl500 and the dashboard is coming unglued where the instrument panel meets the main dash. See pic. Is this common for these and is there a fix? Thanks

I have the same issue with my 2003 SL and was told by my indie in Florida that I will need the dash replaced. I find it hard to believe there is not someone that can help with a repair of this nature. I can't imagine how much of the dash would almost disintegrate during removal as I have removed several other interior trim parts and seen it first hand. Anxious to hear from anyone who has dealt with this issue.

Muy dash is okay so I never did this, but here's the WIS document about removing the instrument cluster panel from the dash. Believe it or not - no tools needed for this. Perhaps it would allow you to get glue under the bubbling material and straighten things back to its German luster.
