Clear plastic rock guard removal
Ladies and gentlemen
looking for a little advice
my 2003 SL has a clear plastic rock guard that needs to be removed
it covers the entire front end one foot on the hood and the entire nose
Very professionally applied and did its job
Any suggestions on how to remove??
Body shop said they couldn’t give estimate as not sure how long it would take them
I am using Heat gun and fingernails at this time
tedious work
have the two front fenders done and getting ready to start the hood
the bottom of the nose all looks good and will stay
Anyone do this before??

When I bought my S-Class, it had this same clear bra ( "sheet vinyl" ) attached to the front hood, mirrors, etc.
I used a Hair Dryer to heat and release the glue and the vinyl pulls off in sheets. With a hair dryer you should not have to worry about over heating. It takes some heat to to get the glue to loosen. A plastic scraping tool can be used gently. I used Clay and Detail spay to remove all residue and Klasse sealer to finish.
