SL/R230: 3rd Brake Light Warning

3rd Brake Light Warning
I recently replaced my original 3rd brake light with a new smoked light. Once I finished and started the car I received a 3rd brake light warning? Is this normal.

try seeing if it clears after a few starts of your car, usually if the car see's that the fault is no longer there after about 3 times, it will automatically clear the fault.
P.S Does it work? is it plugged in well and was the plug dry?

you could go to dealer, or just buy an icarsoft or similar, it will pay for itself after a couple of uses !

I think all of the light malfunction warnings are self-clearing. It is most likely an issue with resistance/current draw being out of the expected range, probably because of the new light. You can clear it, but it will come right back.
