18 different codes for the ABC system..!

Gents, after doing the ABC front valve repair and fully bleeding the system for air entrapped in my 2004 SL-500, did few validation tests and found that there is pressure in the system but there is no oil coming out from any of the individual purge screws in each wheel. Then hooked the ICarsoft MB II and got 18 codes which told me that all the level sensor have errors as well as the body acceleration sensor and the suction restrictor valve. On top of that several P11**** and P15**** that are not in the database. Also when checking the Control System, it stated that there is a communication error with the ECU. This sounds like a terrible nightmare unless one component fix all.>! Does anyone have had similar situation? I actually searched the forum and there is no topic on that! Seems to me like this vehicle is a candidate for plain struts and coils!
Thanks you for your kind advice!

I would imagine there are lots of stored codes, clear the codes and then read the current ones. I would imagine there is air in the suction line.

If R230s have their batteries discharged from lack of driving, ECU codes can happen. I would get a thorough diagnostic done if codes come back. Personally I would repair ABC before switching to coil overs. How many miles on your car? Service history?

MBCO, the vehicle has 130K miles. Regarding the service do not know, I just purchased the car.!
I have been documenting myself on the ABC system and see what and why of the functions. I am still wondering what are the corresponding valves to what the ABC system hydraulic diagram calls Y1, y2, y3, and y5. Looks to me that the shut off valve Y2 is nor being operated.!
The air in the system has been completely purged. I am leaning towards an electronic component problem!

Thanks for the input.

Unfortunately again without a bidirectional diagnostic tool you are going to be replacing parts blindly. With 130,000 miles and unknown maintenance (read fluid flush every oil change, accumulator change every 70,000 or so, and pump replacement every 60,000 miles if fluid hasn’t been serviced regularly) more than likely it is going to need some or all of these parts.

Just like all of my German cars, the abc is great when it works, and expensive when it fails, which it will. I installed coilovers on one of my sons 230 and it’s one less thing to spend money and time on, which these cars will easily consume both of. They require constant repair, or as the people who enjoy them say “maintenance”

To your question, the suction restrictor can be activated with the correct diagnostic tool, I couldn’t do that with my launch or fox well elite tool. Was the fluid that came out of the system black? If so get ready to rebuild or replace lots of the parts listed above.
The fluid that came out of my sons car was burned smelling and black, and many components apparently didn’t appreciate that.

To be precise in message: Use Mercedes Xentry to diagnose first, buy parts, replace or repair to cure. Hunches and guessing cost unecessary waste of time and parts costs and may not cure the issue. Risk of unintended consequence abound in the car know before you go.
