SL/R230: 2009 sl550 battery light on
Hi My name is Paul Fazzino
have 13 volts with the motor not running and 14 1/2 with the motor running on the front and back battery
i am new to to this site would appreciate some help thanks
I have a 2009 sl550 bought it new and it has 11k miles on it
I replaced the starter battery two months ago, it was barley starting.
I disconnected the back battery, and installed the new starter battery and reconnected the back battery,
But the battery red light was still coming and now replaced the back battery. but the, red battery light still on.
Disconnected the back battery and the front battery let it sit for 15 minuets reconnected the front battery and then the back battery
but still have the red battery light.
opened the F52 the fuses F52f2 & F52f1 both have voltage on both end witch make me think there ok they are tight and look good.
Should i replace them any ways ?
Thanks
Paul Fazzino
Erased all the codes and ended up with this too complicated for me

Check out this thread.
Those voltages indicate that both batteries are charging. They should both come up slowly from start - up to about 14.2 - 14.5 Volts.
Did you scan the car then clear the code?
What was the code, and did it come back?
I'm not clear from your post if you scanned it or if you copied that bit from elsewhere and you don't have your own scanner. It's pretty much essential.

Check out this thread.
thanks
Both batteries were charging, but I had the red battery message.
Scanning the car and clearing the code fixed it. Read the sticky thread on the top of the page about the Foxwell scanner - it's a great low cost way in and you will need it again...

But, i am not familiar with those codes if one of them may be the problem
