Could a throttle position sensor problem be linked to a flat consumer (rear) battery.

Hi,

Just wondering whether a throttle position sensor problem could be caused by a flat or faulty
consumer (rear) battery.

I have had the throttle position sensor problem before when I had no issue with the consumer battery.

However a friend suggested that they might be linked.

thanks
Gerard

Not if the engine is running. It will only get power from the rear battery if the engine is set to "Run" after turning the ignition to "Off" then to "Run". With the engine running, all power is provided by the alternator.

Are you talking about the throttle pedal position sensor? The pedal assembly wears, allowing too much travel. You can reset the travel by packing it with a washer, or replace the assembly.

If the TPPS overshoots, it will go into limp mode and reset when you turn the car off and on again.

It's not related to a low battery.
