2007 SL55 shock difference

I recently bought a 2007 AMG SL55, come to find out it has a 2006 right rear shock and a 2006 left front shock I'm sure there must be a big difference due to the price of these years. This is my first SL55 that I searched for over a long time I wanted the 2007 cause of all the latest features. Can someone tell me what the difference is in these shocks cause I'm looking at another $1800 to replace the left front 2006 shock. I have put a new proper shock on the right rear because it made a banging noise going over bumps I think due to the electronic that the 2007 does not use. I want to know if what I have on the front is ok or do i need to put a new one on the left front .I have written to Arnot about this but get no reply.

'07 was the first year of ABC 2 for the R230. Could be that the car was manufactured mid-late '06 but the struts / shocks themselves should not have compatibility issues from the factory despite the transitional year.

-Does your SL55 have the P30 / 030 Performance Package?

-What was the part number of the replacement right rear shock you used?

ABC strut / shock pricing and part numbers are all over the place so cross-referencing exact numbers and VINs is necessary.

My car does not have the P30 performance package . I do not have the part number of the rear shock that I used. It is a new Arnot for 2007 however the one I removed was from pre-2007 because it had the electric sensor on the top my car does not have any wiring for that. The left front shock is also a pre-2007 shock installed by a shop that the previous owner used. My issue is I will that shock on my left front side work with the 2007 shock thats on the right front. I can't get any information on the differences between these shocks. I contacted Arnot with no reply. I assume there is a major difference due to the huge price spread. If I need to get the correct shock for left front I gotta shell out another $1600. I bought a 2007 for the updated ABC and 510 horse power. I don't want to drive it hard in the canyons if I'm going to get the wheels into the front fenders. This is my VIN WDBSK72F67F119819

Without knowing the part numbers used, it's difficult to say. There is no official compatibility when it comes to using ABC 1 (2003-2006) struts / shocks on ABC 2 (2007+) cars, so I'm not sure how your MY2007 R230 is using "2006" components.

MB even has different part numbers for the ABC 2 struts / shocks on 2009+ models vs. the 2007-2008 models, making things very specific when it comes to compatibility.

I ran your VIN through MB EPC and pulled the following info on what should be used front & rear (below).

My recommendation is to get the car up in the air and clarify what you have installed at all 4 corners as a first step.

I finally got all the shock numbers on my car as follows

LR Mercedes A230 320 7113
RR ARNOTT 2484 I have replace this one with the correct ARNOTT unit due to upper mount failure.
LF ARNOTT 2418 This is the one that is listed for 2003 to 2006 it uses the electric sensor which my car does not have
RF mercedes A230 320 6813

i want to know if I'm headed for a failure with the incorrect shock on the left front.
