Any MB dealer can sell you the part at a reasonable price. I wouldn't go after market for this one.
While you're at it, do lubricate those hinges. I was surprised how heavy the flaps were moving, on my car.

Is there any way to purchase just a cable rack gear for the rear deck flap units? Part number?
One of mine I found was cracked in half as I was doing the sagging flap repair.

Did you ever resolve this issue? Attempting to repair my "flap actuator" I managed to break the "rack gear". My research tells me that you can't just replace this part, you have to buy the whole assembly (~$600).

The only way to get one is to buy the motor and cables assembly. I plan to to it this winter. The part is on ebay for about $250 from a used parts supplier.
