Command Unit Malfunctioning
While using the single DVD player to play MP-3 music files on the player the sound stops and starts intermittently and then an error message appears " CD ROM error or No CD. The DVD hesitates to be ejected, but finally came out. I reinserted, the files loaded and it was playing. However, later the whole same scenario started again. This is my second command unit for a 2005 SL500, it was replaced a good number of years ago with a used unit. I'm thinking it needs to be replaced again, but I wanted to pull the fuse to power it down to see if the unit resets itself. Does anyone know where the fuse is located, I do have one fuse chart for the engine compartment fuse panel but can't identify it. Is this fuse located in another panel? Thanks in advance for the help.

Have you confirmed it is not an issue with the CD/DVD you are using. CDR and DVDR will age, and due to the way they are burned, compared to pre-recorded CD/DVD can give poor playback on systems not designed for them.
If it is the COMAND system, you can get the laser replaced, but unless you can do it yourself probably not cost effective.

2005 R 230 SL350 (M112 3.7). Sold the 1966 W113 230SL recently
Why don't you just disconnect the batteries for a while (observe correct order)? As for your question - three or four fuses are involved with the Comand, all behind the right seat. Benzbits.com has a plethora of fuse diagrams.
I humbly mention my (Fredericks) Excell fuse chart, with multiple search entries, inserted there.
