Comand replacement

If I replace my comand unit will it need to be programmed?

I am presuming you want to remove COMAND and fit an aftermarket head unit.

You need to code the instrument cluster to enable clock setting from menu.

No other coding necessary

Thank you for the response, I should of said, if I purchase a used head with the same part no. Will the replacement head need programming. Thank you in advance.

Depends on your command model year. I believe if the firmware on the COMAND is older, say Dec 2008 you should be good. I read that the PIN was not introduced until May 09, as per DAS information. I changed mine with no code needed. Check firmware sticker on unit you are looking to replace.
