R230 SL55 Wont Start / Relay no Click / Jump Start
Hey guys, to start I'm Kagan from Germany, I'm happy to become a part of the forum, I hope you can help me and I'll thank you for the years.
I have a problem, I drive a R230 Sl55 amg 2003. My car won't start, when I turn on the ignition the pump turns on, the throttle adjusts itself but nothing happens when it's in the next position to start. No noises. Starter relay doesn't click, I installed a new relay, still doesn't work. Changed the starter battery, still the same, then I bridged the starter relay. See there, the starter works, but the car still doesn't start. I used star diagnosis to check whether the ECU EIS etc. was approved, yes all approvals were available and I tried 2 keys. Car won't start, what could be the problem? There is power at the starter relay but there is no signal coming from the key to the relay, it doesn't make a click when I try with the key.

The coil for the start relay should have power when the key is on, but the ground is provided by the engine ECU. However, if that is the only issue, it should start when you jumper the relay and get it to crank. Relay K in the passenger fuse block (circuit 87) powers the fuel injectors and some sensors through fuse F29. Make sure that you are getting power out of that fuse. If I had to guess, the most probably cause of your problem is corrosion in the passenger fuse block. Pull a few relays and fuses. If you see a lot of blue corrosion, I would recommend replacing it. Common issue on these, the covers are kind of marginal to start with and the passenger side one is difficult to get in place and properly locked down.
