Trunk Actuator

Hey All,
On my 2007 SL550 the trunk won’t soft close unless i pull the actuator fuse (71, behind passenger seat), put it back in and everything works fine for few days and then again it stops.
i checked for leaks and didn’t detect anything (i sealed leaks about 2.5 years ago and it worked great until recently).
i have no error codes, anyone had this issue before and/or can suggest ideas before i drop 500$ on new actuator?
appreciate your advice!

If fuse 71 resets it, 99% chance it is a leak in the system. You should have a code in the PSE module. Are you scanning with Mercedes specific software that will find those codes? The trunk actuator is absolutely the most unreliable part of the car and I haven't seen any indication that the part was ever improved. I just recommend repairing it because the new one is going to fail in a few years anyway. I'm now using the superglue/baking soda repair and it seems to work better than other methods for me.

thanks Mike, no i don’t have MB SW, just generic scanner, guess i need to open up and listen more closely, the last time it was very loud and clear where the leaks were, i used epoxy which did great job.

There are a lot of points on the actuator that can leak, here is a video of all the points to check, use soapy water to test, also check your pipe lines.
