Noisy Front Brakes
My Mercedes SL500 had drilled rotors on the front. I installed EBC dimpled and slotted rotors with Akebono ceramic pads and now the car makes a swishing scraping raspy sound that comes form both side. It is very evident when driving alongside a wall, curb or another vehicle. VERY annoying for a top down car. The system has been checked and everything is good with no scraping. Is this endemic of dimpling over drilled or the slots on the rotor trapping air between the pad and the rotor?

Not sure if it's relevant, but the slots spiral clockwise, not anti clockwise; in other words they're handed left and right - did you check that?

I thought that but the noise is the same on both sides. When viewing the rotor. Is it supposed to spiral out or spiral in? Mine spiral out on both sides. I think it is the ceramic pads. I also installed all new pins and spring plates with grease but to no avail. I initially installed the original plates and they made a ton of noise and after pulling them I found that they had a groove worn in them and it was keeping the pads from sliding back off the rotors. After replacing them it was much better but still enough to drive you crazy when driving with the window or the roof down.

No, I gave you a bum steer. Sorry! Brain fade. Obviously the direction of the spiral is the same regardless of which side of the car you mount them on, so that is not your issue.
