SL350 Fuel Sloshing Noise
It might be that all the driving recently with the roof up I have become over aware of the noise BUT I dont remember it previously.
Does anyone else get a fuel sloshing noise from the fuel tank area when braking or accelerating at low speed.
Now I can hear it its slowly driving me crazy.
Common ?
Reason ?
A cure ?

A soft clunk clunk, tap tap, slosh slosh? You've got the loose baffle in the tank.
Common - yes
Reason - poor engineering
A cure - https://www.benzworld.org/threads/r2...epair.3134147/

There are some YouTube videos about this and how to DIY repair the lose baffle. The "approved" solution from the dealer is to replace the gas tank. When I had the problem with my 2004 SL500 and asked the dealer if it was a hazard, I was told no. Never got it fixed, just got rid of the car.
