Hey gang,

has anyone tried one of these in their r230? I thought about replacing the head unit, but it costs a lot and these seem to be relatively inexpensive.

Yup. I use one in my SL for Android Auto and it works perfectly. I used a mount for the cd player so it sits right in there nicely.

very cool - if you have time, would you post a pic? I don’t quite understand the cd mount. Is it something that lips into the slot?

Nope, it still sits below the vents.

I'm curious as well. I got the regular non-wide screen tablet, got this last year for ****s and giggles but didn't like how it sat over the command(it wasn't flush). I also used the CD slot and it didn't feel too secure.

Post pics if possible, perhaps I'll give it another go.

I'm interested in this as well. My Comand screen needs replacing (has dark spots and scratches) and I can't decide if I should replace the Comand screen, or replace the entire Comand unti with a one of the Chinese Android Head Units (I realize that I would have to install an optical decoder as well)?

I recently put a Chinese Android radio in my son's Nissan, and while the wiring was not straight forward (instructions were lacking), it looks great and provides Apple Car Play (or Android Auto), and the screen is awesome...

I would love feedback from anyone with an Android Head Unit (any regrets).

Here's a picture of the wide screen. Forgive the untidiness as I didn't tuck all the wiring at this moment. It does the job and some more for a quick solution. I tightened everything at the CD mount and I have no issues with movement even during spirited driving. I still need to complete the wiring for the backup camera since it comes with those options.

When I'm more motivated, I want a cleaner solution by replacing the command console, but I'm not feeling the urge to do so right now
