ABC problem

Hello I have a 2006 SL500 with 145k km. Overal it's running well. JUst the other day I was driving home and the red ABC alarm went off in the dashboard It said to stop car was too low. THe front end didn;t move, nothing seemed to change. When I got homw and parked there was a fairly large puddle undre the left rear side. I take it to the shop on Tuesday. I'm hoping for a leaking hose and replace the fluid. We shal see.

How far did you drive with the pump and tank dry? You may have damaged the pump, but probably it's OK.

If it is just a hose and fluid it should not be an expensive repair - take it to someone you can trust. Hoses can be rebuilt for very low cost, or can be bought new and genuine, for not too much.

I didn’t drive very far and I think it was a slower leak. After I parked it at home is when it dumped a puddle of

Fluid puddle after parking the car

resolved

I had the shop call today and it's going to be fixed. This could be the cheapest ABC problem yet. They had to replace 2 1" O-rings.= and replace some fluid...total was about $500! I was so scared of getting a $5k bill! I must live a charmed life.

It sounds like you have a fluid leak in the ABC system. The "too low" warning and the puddle under the left rear side are likely due to a leaking hose or component. Hopefully, it's a simple fix with hose replacement and fluid refill when you take it to the shop.
