Tires

I Read somewhere that MB approved use of 305 / 30 / zr 19 size rear tires for summer use on the 2009 SL 63. The original size was 285 / 30 / zr 19. Anybody tried 305"s ??

305

I run 305/30/ZR20 Pirelli P Zero's on the rear of my 2009 SL65 and they work fine.

If I could find a wider rim and move up to 315-'s without issues I would.

Why would any car manufacturer spend its time and money approving non-OE tire sizes, and why is MB approval important to you? 305 versus 285 is about 3/4". Next time you're stopped at a red light, jump out and ask the guy behind you if he thinks your 285's look too skinny.

The difference between 305 and 315 is about half inch. Next time you're at a red light, jump out and ask the guy behind you if your 305's look too skinny.

I have at least 305ZR-20 on my SL600, But I think they are 315's, I can't look right now because the car is in Montana.

I have 295/30/20 in the rear. It's the perfect fit.
