SL/R230: ABC Pump Rebuild Thread
I know your cars also have ABC. I made a thread on rebuilding the ABC pump for those interested:

Have you considered rebuilding these pumps for others? I suspect people would pay $500+ for a working one.
Like I said in the thread, I wouldn't recommend a rebuilt pump except by/from mercedes originally and/or a company that specializes in hydraulic pumps.
The install/removal process is so tedious, the risk of having to do the job vs the potential money savings from rebuilding it yourself just doesn't equate.
There are a number of pitfalls in here for which the information simply isn't available.
I know that won't stop people though, so I made that thread lol, and so far I just got the rebuilt pump installed... unfortunately the car won't start b/c the shifter is faulty...

I still think I'm on to something as one of the capacitors tested decidedly bad.. that said I need this car running and working so I might just capitulate and take it to the dealership.
Our shifters are known for cold solder joints in the optical pickups in the main board. Even if the joints look good, resolder them all - you have an 1856 code which points directly to this issue (sorry I didn't read right through your shifter thread - apologies if you have already done that).
