There a two cars available in Mars red, I believe from the same person, on e-Bay motors. You can check them out, or better off, buy one and don't wait for your car.
Anyway, here is the link:

Here is a link to the other one but it is Firemist Red.

The first one expecially looks like Firemist Red. Are you sure it is Mars Red?

On the final thought about Mars red, I am not sure that this is totally horrible if you wanted to be different but I believe that the Firemist may be the better color. I can tell you the stone interior is gorgeous with the Chestnut wood.
Just some thoughts. You should buy the car you love and I am sure it will be gorgeous.
I believe that the "2005 SL Class book" has a picure of mars red about 4 or 5 pages in. Its an over the top view.

Also, when looking at those pictures I find the following very funny, or shall I say...well, you make your own judgement.
The person that posted these pictures is showing on the rear trunk an SL500 AMG but:
No quad exhausts
No AMG tail lights
No black Alcantara covering to the Instrument cluster which all AMG's have.
Actually if you look at view 216, there is not AMG emblem, if you look at view 252, all of a sudden, there is an AMG emblem. Is somebody being a bad boy?
Anybody got any thoughts here?

My last resort was going to Stuttgart to look at the colors, but wife decided on her color.

Go for the color that you like best.

Go for the color that you like best.

Go for the color that you like best.
However from the front red doesn't seem to work. Just an opinion, am sure on the road it will look fab.
The best way to pick the colors is to see the color on the car in different light conditions. For example, wife wanted Diamond Silver but in certain light conditions, it look like her worst color.
after 3-4 years the interior starts to look aged, you just can't get it clean
Now have an sl500 charcoal grey, dark interior is a nice change.
I ust see way too many black or gray or silver or pewter cars. The put me too sleep. We also have an '05 launch edition that we bought just for the color. Get the red and never look back.
A close second is Firemist. It's beautiful over stone. There was one @ Fletcher Jones the day we took delivery, but it had no pano roof.
