Coding out COMAND - What am I doing wrong?

I'm finally getting around to getting my R230 roadworthy. I've got an aftermarket radio with carplay so I can't change the clock in the dash. I've got DAS that I used to set COMAND to 'not present' in the CGW and I also set the radio to 'not present' in the instrument cluster but that didn't seem to allow a setting to appear in the instrument cluster settings. For those that have aftermarket radios and have set the clock, how did you get the clock setting to appear in the menu? And what did I miss? It's bugging the hell out of me!

Sorry, no idea what your "but that didn't seem to allow a setting to appear in the instrument cluster settings" means. Are you getting an error code?
I also have an aftermarket radio; it takes some experimentation with the left steering wheel buttons and the "+" and "-" to access the clock and change it. My car is at another location now, or I would write up the exact steps.

Within DAS, there's a section to do a control adaptation for the instrument cluster. I can't recall the name exactly. I was following this thread: https://mbworld.org/forums/sl-class-...installed.html. interestingly enough, I made a couple of comments back in March. Just getting around to doing it now

Figured it out.

Go to:
"Control units"
"Information and communication"
"ICM - Instument cluster with maintenance interval display"
"Diagnosis to plant specifications"
"Control unit adaptations"
"Control unit adaptations (variant coding)"
"Variantenkodierung Werkseinstellungen" (meaning: variant coding factory settings)
Scroll down and set "Uhrenverstellung" (meaning: clock adjustment) to "enable" -- It's about half way down.

It's not immediately available. You'll need to force the instrument cluster to restart. In my case, I added Distronic (which I don't have and it was the first one listed at the top of the control unit adaptions section ) and set it to PRESENT. Coded it to the ECU. Changed it back to NOT PRESENT and coded back to the ECU. After that it was available in the instrument cluster settings in the dash. Powering off the car then back on might work but I'm not sure if the ECU truly powers off immediately. I'm sure if you left it for an hour or so, it would have had the same effect.
