ROBS SL ROCKS

I have a 2004 SL 500 and have a question about the seat travel. I like to drive with the seat angled back and away from the steering wheel but as the seat is moved back, the back angle moves up. I understand that this prevents the back of the seat from hitting, but there seems to be a good three inches left in the travel. My dealer says that this cannot be changed but I was wondering if any one else has this same situation. The steering wheel adjustment is all the way forward. Its not the horrible but could be more comfortable. This is my first post and think the SL is an awsome automobile.
