Mousy?

Have not seen tectite grey yet, but a similar color on the PT Cruiser looks great under certain light conditions (outside under the sun), but under other conditions (inside or at night) looks like a giant mouse. Make sure you see it under varying light conditions if it is important to you to have it always look its best. The color that intrigues me is the new pewter. I saw it on an add in the German magazine Stern for the new E Class and it was stunning on that vehicle - at least in the ad.

It looks good under bright sunlight, but...

seems a bit too dark and flat in subdued lighting. Just a personal observation though. Suggest you check it out under different lighting conditions.

Having the stone interior - the much lighter beige will make the car much nicer looking with a bigger contrast.

BTW this car is for sale at Beverly hills classic cars for $122,000. With Mercedes of Houston selling their SL's at prices relatively close to MSRP, i do not think this car will be selling anytime soon.

I have a Tectite Grey/Stone and everyone loves the color. I am yet to see another one like it. :-)

That really is a sharp combination. Very elegant. Love the rims as well- give it more of a heavier stance.

What is the wait list at the dealer ship?? I would be surprised if you could walk in and drive away with an SL500 at MSRP on the weekend..

On the Dupont Registry website the search engine brought up about 10 or so SL's from Mercedes-Houston with prices under 100 grand. Although they might not be on the ground since there are no pics for the cars. They do have one according to their website, brand new at $97,000.

Dupont conflicting

The Dupont registry has listed from the same Houston dealer other SL 500's for 15 to 20 thousand plus above list. What gives? Anyone actually call them on this or are the ones you reference "loss leaders" that are "already sold" when you call?

I was going to order that color, but my dealer didn't have any color samples of it. The brochure color chip made it look like it had some green undertones in it. Does it ? Anyway I ordered a black one instead, but no build date yet so I could still change the order. What do you guys think ?

From what my dealer tells me, they are no longer going to offer tectite grey.

Does this increase my car's value?
