Repair of Black Paint on SL

I was stopped and asked a question today by a man who has an 04 SL500 Black like my SL600. He was in an accident and after the body shop completed the repairs to his car he was seeing cloudy hazes on various areas. It looks strange to me, on one fender there is about a 6" x 6" cloudy haze over an area and on the rear deck lid you can see more but smaller sizes. He said he didn't notice them at first but they seemed to have gotten worse as time goes by.

Any ideas what I can tell him?

I suggested he contact his body shop.

My guess and I mean guess, is the clearcoat. I would doubt the black could cause the haze.

It might be able to just be buffed out.
