SL500 and A-CLASS
Hopefully,

The dealer will fix all your problems and not wait on stuff to get approve like leather seats and trim. I still do not understand why one dealer would not replace any of my damage trim and the other dealer did it without any questions.

My dealer I have always felt is great. He does anything to make me happy. He has ordered all new back leather panels, covers and doors.

I can tell you it is going to take forever because some of panels are in Germany and the others are not made or stocked so they have to be built.

I am not sure that is going to be enough. I really, really love this car but I am not sure I can stick it out.

I am going to the Bentley dealer tomorrow. We will see if I fall in love

Tiggerfink, as for your dealer, he was always in contol of what happened. The dealers have a lot of room to make repairs they feel are warranted.

RJC,

Wonder what the problem is with e-mail? Never got anything.

My PM box was filled with too many messages. I have deleted some so there is room now. Thanks.

Wonder what happened to the e-mail?

Please try resending.

Thanks.

I grew tired of having to take my SL to the dealer countless times to fix mechanical and electronic problems that popped up almost weekly. The way I figure it, life is short, and the time and energy that went into dealing with the MB dealership over things like not being able to unlock or start the car, parktronic gremlins, and non-stop rattling wasn't worth it.

I just don't think the quality of craftsmanship is what it could be since the Chrysler takeover. My new '05 Carrera has been worry free so far, and the 6 speed make it a blast to drive. We'll see how well it holds up.

My car can be checked out at:

In life, you never look back. If I don't like the Continental GT, it too can always be sold and a new SL bought.

Honestly though, I can't see me buying another Mercedes for a long time. I just don't have the confidence in the brand anymore.

Anyone interested please go to:

Well, the Continental GT won't come until October, so I will be without a car until them.

My girlfriend says I can use her car and then there is always the Navigatior. Oh...now thats exciting.

I will be the only homeless...or shall I say...carless person here.

Okay so you're now jobless (retired) and will soon be carless, hmmm...what to do? Ok, this qualifies you for the roadside piece of cardboard sign duty, which says "WILL WORK FOR EXOTIC CAR". I would advise wearing your best suit.

A Zonda wont do it for LovinSL600. Almost no electronics. Fab car though. My business was exhibting at a show last year when one of the other exhibitors drove his into the exhibition hall and on to his stand where it stayed for the duration of the exhibition. Nothing like rubbing your potential customers face in your success to get them to send new business your way...

Check out the Bentley Lease Residuals

I visited my local Bentley dealer today with a client to look into purchasing a Continental GT. Bentley Motor Credit is among the worst lease programs I have seen for some time. 6.35% interest rate, $2/mile over 10,000 annual limit and the residuals. Catch this, 2 year 51%; 3 year 46.2% and 4 year 40.6%. I confirmed that this is the standard Bentley offering at several other Bentley dealerships. Nice car but what a loss on depreciation. 24 months $80,000 loss on resale.

I don't know why they have the residual at 51% for 2 years. They must get higher monthly payments for the term and hope people are dumb enough to walk away from a buy out that is way less than market value. Bentleys have high depreciation (in dollars) because the initial cost is high but the percentage is probably in line with most high end lux cars. I would bet a Cont.Gt 2 years old will be worth far more than 75k or half of its MSRP.

That's a really bad offer.
