Sound system choices

Curious, has anyone taken delivery of their new 2013 SL that also has the Bang & Olufsen sound system ? The only other car I've heard the B &b O in was a 2012 S class and it just sounded cavernous. We're putting ourselves in a slot to order a 2014 SL soon and we'd like to nail down all of our choices ahead of time. Anyone have any input? It'a a lot of extra money for something we may ,or may not, like. As for the standard Harman Kardon, it serves the purpose. Maybe it's just time to not be so darned cheap and get the upgrade anyway?

I can tell you from owning a car with the B&O that is defenetly the way to go, I just got the new SL with out it and I regret- it. Big difference in sound and $ but worth it.

you're quite right, the harmon is a very satisfactory system; the b&o is discernably better. that is to say it has more controlled bass, crisper, cleaner highs,etc.. really comes down to how important music in your car is to you, realizing that a car is not going to ever be the best environment for any system. as a personal observation, i had the b&o in my sls and did not think it warranted the premium; however i got it in my current sl63 and find it noticeably supeior to the sls set up. overall, i'm quite pleased with my choice. good luck with your choice.

Does the B&O offer a fader? One thing that frustrates me with my current SL, and is also true in the 231, there is no fader. I prefer the majority of the sound to come from behind the seats rather than driven into my face.

Thank you, Russjr, you've just made my choice so easy! The B&O it is!

Was in San Francisco over the weekend, my local dealer told me that had 3 SLs in stock with B&O systems. Went by - and not only were they more than accommodating letting us play in a car to hear the B&O (which was amazing and well worth the cost) but it also had Magic Sky.

If you had ANY doubt about Magic Sky - stop. It is very cool and works exceptionally well. Love my pano top now but can't wait to get the Magic Sky and lose the moving shade.

I think the Bose system in my 2003 SL sounds better than the B&O we got in my wife's new 640i Gran Coupe. The Burmister in my friends Porsche is truly high fi, amazing sound. Has anyone listened to the Burmister, how does that compare to the new B&O in the 2013 SL?
