Replace Key Fob Battery?
Two days ago I picked up the car after the 10,000 service. The next day (what do you expect) I got the replace key fob battery.
My Corvette's key battery lasted five years.
If the keys battery is dead, will the car still start with the key in the ignition?

I just changed the battery in the key fob and all is well again.
On the first start, the MFD, showed the fob battery low. I restarted the engine and the warning went away. All bow the the electronic Gods.

Good to see it worked , a friend of mine said that you can remove ENGINE START STOP button on the dash and start your engine with a conventional way , by inserting your smart key in it's place should key fob's battery goes dead

Yes you can remove the button in the dash; but to replace the key batteries you just need to remove the valet key and then within the slot there is a lever to release the cartridge that holds the two batteries. Get them at Radio Shack.
It's the same set up as the key to my CL and SL.

I like the way the fob opens for a new battery. On my '08 Z06, I had to use a dime in a slot and twist it to open, the tab that holds it closed broke.
My big question was, with a dead battery, will the fob start the car when it is inserted in the ignition?
I'm guessing that it's keyless function will not work way before the battery is dead.
