Anyone have this issue? I was driving yesterday on the highway and suddenly the car felt like it had no more power, yet when I hit the gas it went a little bit, but not much as if it was in neutral. I looked at the dash and I was in economy mode for the transmission when I know I left it in S for sport originally. Very strange.... I had to stop in the middle of the highway and put the car in park. I tried to put it back into drive, but the car wouldn't move. I then shut the car off and then started it back up, put into drive and there were no issues.

Could I have been in manual mode or the compuyter malfunctioned? I never used the manual mode yet and there were no system errors on the dash.

Take it to the dealer and have them run diagnostics.

Had a similar issue on a 2008 SL55 - the transmission control module reported unknown version. The dealer replaced the controller under an extended CPO warranty. The transmission fluid was also about a half-quart low - topped off the transmission and no problems since.

I just read the manual and it seems maybe the transmission went into Emergency mode? Also, someone else told me that if you are in sport mode and at a high speed and hit the economy mode by accident it could do that, but I don't think so as the car wouldn't really move much at all... waiting for my service rep to call me back... I may bring the car in next Friday when I'm off as it's running fine now...
