Quick question: why the air filter change to BMC (or, for the matter, K&N)? Everything I've read discourages doing that: have I missed something? Cheers...

A belated thanks, but it’s not that hard when you never drive the car in the rain or even park it outside for any length of time. It is over 4.5 years old and has just over 4,000 miles. Other than when actually being driven, I doubt it has been outdoors for a total of more than a few hours since I took delivery.

Every car I've owned (plenty) new or used.
That's the first mod I've always done to her: adding an after market a/f.
I careless about hp gain but drive-ability and low maintenance are what these filters have given me.
As a mater of fact I had a MB dealership mechanic installed it for me and I got two thumbs up from him after a short test drive with him driving.
By far the BMC has done just that.

Nice! I got my 2018 back in July with 9800 miles. Same colors as yours. Think I got lucky.
