Clrly not selling well: have had several new '13-'14 SL65s and viewed 'em as best cars ever, until S65 Coupe arrived: but one's opinion of any car's merits is often irrelevant vs sales/profitability

But arguably SL (or S Coupe) faces same problem of many (realistically) 2-seat $100-250K sportscars/commuters: a decidedly niche mkt in era of $100K++ SUVs: even >$100K sedans are under fire from similar-cost SUVs

Porsche is now offering 12mos lease payment buyouts if one leases another new 991.....and many repeat P (or MB) buyers have done numerous 24mos leases over past several yrs....figure out that cycle time and what that suggests abt how desperate are mfrs to move >$100K toys

Grt times for consumers as these new cars are arguably cheaper than ever and on iPhone like cycles, subsidized by mfrs w/vast overcapacity and facing lots of competition to attract the relatively limited universe of affluent consumers who judge the price/engineering/fashion tradeoffs in disparate ways

I've got 10 months left on my lease and would love a buy out offer, maybe closer to year end MB will be more eager to move metal.
