After a number of Mercedes automobiles over the years, we have made the move back to an SL. Started in MB with an SL in the '80's, then 190E's, a couple of variants of the E350, and now the SL550. I will admit to having a number of BMW's during the same time period along with some Suburbans to haul race cars and other 'stuff'. Time came to add a touring car to the garage, and after driving a number of options, we settled on the SL. No doubt we will be putting some miles on this one in the coming years. A friend of mine shared with me that in his opinion, 'the SL is what all cars want to be when they grow up'. A great motor car, and very enjoyable to drive.
A big hello from west Tennessee (Dyersburg). Also new to the forum and just getting acquainted with my 2013 SL550. I've had it a whole week and already looking at what to do next. Love the car and everything it has to offer. Last few performance cars have been C6 Zs, but decided to jump into something totally different this time. What a great change of pace. Many years ago had a 300CE..I always commented to folks that at one time I owned a Benz and it was the best built car I'd ever owned, now I'm back in one and it has a drop top.. Life is good
Excellent! Color? Photos? And you should make the pilgrimage to Nashville Cars & Coffee the first Saturday each month. We have an SLSGT, a Mille Miglia, and a number of previous generation SL that show up. Along with Bugatti, Ferrari Enzo, Lambos, Aston Martin DB2's, it is just a huge show.

It's held every Saturday, but the best of the best come out the first Saturday of each month, which is Exotics Day. It is held in Franklin, TN at the Thoroughbred 20, 633 Frazier Dr.. They have a facebook page, Nashville Cars & Coffee. Outside of the first Saturday of the month, you will have some assembled vehicles, but not like the first Saturday, that is very worthy of attendance. Hope you can make it!
