Without the proper adapter it is easy to damage the car (side skirts etc.). So be careful!

Greeting All,
I'm also a newbie - bought a 2017 SL 450 in October (2019). I too have questions about jacking up my new ride.
1) Where can we find the "special adapter" that Wolfman mentioned in his response above.
2) A - I've read that the car can be lifted from the rear using the differential as a jack point. Is the true?
B - What is a safe jack point (won 't damage the car) for lifting the front of the car?
3) A - For those of you that do your own oil/filter changes, do you use an engine oil siphon pump (what are the pros and cons of using this method)?
B - Do you change the oil by jacking the car up and drain the oil from oil pan underneath the car (pros and cons please)?
Thanks in advance.

Do not jack up the car via the differential it may cause leaks and if you have the LS you can damage it.
The jack points are the squares that require the adapter.
If you have a 550 suction is the recommended method for oil changes.

I don't care for the jacking pad adapter because it relies on friction between the pad and the floor jack. Here is a link from 10 years ago that describes an alternative jack adapter that will work if your floor jack has a removable pad. I originally used it on my SLK55 and have used it on all my Mercedes since then. The parts can be found at your local Lowe's or Home Depot:
