The ship was timestamped in Brunswick Port at 0413 hours today. I talked to dealer rep about 1500 hours, and NetStar already showed D5. Rep stated that it would show shipped when carrier leaves port for dealership. Not sure about how accurate that is. But regardless, this process is in the short rows for sure!
Thank you, Phil!

You might as well go to Academy, buy a tent, and camp near front door of the dealership tonight! ![Smilie](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
I suppose you have already told your salesman that keeping the SL in the "Make Ready" department for a week is not acceptable?

I had a great salesman. He phoned me as mine was being loaded off the truck and by the time I drove to the dealership the mechanics had already performed a final check and the car was washed!!!

Just wondering how many SL's your dealership sells a year? If it's like mine, not that many. Even with that in mind, my dealership took two days to prepare the car for delivery. Just sayin'.

Welcome to the club.......I'm in the same boat as you - always loved the SL but never thought I'd afford one and then one day, I did the sums and headed to the dealer with a fistful of cash. I was actually going to buy a SLK 55 (to replace my SLK350) until my wife complained about the ride and storage.......I briefly explained that her needs would be satisfied by a SL and a lot more cash......
I have a good wife....

One of the great things about this site, is that you hear stories about how someone got their first MB—or their tenth one. I would venture to say that most of us who frequent MBWorld were not given a new SL on our 16th birthday. I believe that most of us lusted after these cars while driving far lesser marques, dreaming of the day when we might get behind the wheel of something bearing that 3-pointed star. I can remember lusting after the 280SL’s in the early 70’s, only to be blown away the first time I set eyes on the 1972 350SL. I remember driving behind a Signal Red with tan interior model for several miles around 1976 and it just about drove me crazy. In 1979, I finally got my first new SL. What an amazing feeling of pride and accomplishment I had. I had struggled as a small business owner for many years and had finally gotten to the point where that red car could be mine. What a glorious day it was and I feel it that you feel that same way today. Enjoy your new car and may every mile be a safe and pleasant one.
Merry Christmas to all!
