Pretty much sums me up, but I actually already have all of the products. I was the same way with my '14 E350 Cabriolet! Merry Christmas!
Just before I wrote my previous post, I was in the garage giving my wheels (same as yours) a quick once-over with quick detailer....now ready to go for a drive to a country pub this afternoon for lunch with the missus and start all over again......
My wife says I'm **** and she is probably correct - before I got my SLK,I had a 200 series Land Cruiser V8 and it got pretty much the same treatment but it took a hell of a lot longer .......and needed a ladder for the roof so the SLK and SL are a doddle by comparison....

Reason: added a few words
One of the great things about this site, is that you hear stories about how someone got their first MB—or their tenth one. I would venture to say that most of us who frequent MBWorld were not given a new SL on our 16th birthday. I believe that most of us lusted after these cars while driving far lesser marques, dreaming of the day when we might get behind the wheel of something bearing that 3-pointed star. I can remember lusting after the 280SL’s in the early 70’s, only to be blown away the first time I set eyes on the 1972 350SL. I remember driving behind a Signal Red with tan interior model for several miles around 1976 and it just about drove me crazy. In 1979, I finally got my first new SL. What an amazing feeling of pride and accomplishment I had. I had struggled as a small business owner for many years and had finally gotten to the point where that red car could be mine. What a glorious day it was and I feel it that you feel that same way today. Enjoy your new car and may every mile be a safe and pleasant one.
Merry Christmas to all!
My stepdad had an early 70s W114 280E which was a pretty good car in it's day .....I was at the age where friends were getting married and he often loaded it to me to drive the bride to the church...etc...I loved them from then and yet strangely went over to the dark side and had many BMWs - my first MB was a SLK 350 in 2012 (just took me 40 years to see the light ).....

Yeah, I'm on the same page! And, I have a Silverado that seems to take forever! Really liking this SL!
Congratulations on your new your ride! Looks great. Love the interior
Look forward to your first impressions.
Enjoy in good health. Merry Christmas!
Yeah, you probably recall me initially ordering black interior due to my wife's concerns about white showing stains, etc. Well, I am so glad that I switched to our mutual (yours & mine) favorite, Porcelain/Black! I have gotten so many compliments on the interior. My daughter saw my car for the first time this morning, and she remarked about really liking the interior and it being so classy. I just looked at my wife without speaking but with a huge grin on my face! My wife is actually very happy with the Porcelain now that we have it.
The only other change that I made from my initial order was Selentine Grey to designo Cardinal Red metallic. I am vey happy and excited about this color. I have read some negative comments about Cardinal Red, and of course to each his own as well as it should be, but I have received only genuine compliments about the color.
Wolfman, I drove the car home this past Thursday, on the 21st. The top was dropped, as it was sunny and 59 degrees! It was a ride home that I will never forget nor take for granted!
Thanks again for everything along my journey this deciding to take the plunge and order this remarkable machine! It was very good to hear back from you, Wolfman! Merry Christmas to you and yours!
Oh, man...I am SO JEALOUS! That's exactly the "exterior look" of one I would order. Let's hope the roads stay clear in your neck of the woods so you can keep driving it. What a way to bring in the NEW YEAR!
Well, I’d say it looks great, but then it looked great in photos prior to all these applications. Just curious, how much did all of this cost?
Hope you had a Merry Christmas, Streamliner! It looks much better, in person, since the treatments. Besides awesome looks, the treatments provide added levels of protection. The warranty for Opti-Coat Pro Plus is valid for seven years. Besides increased protection from the elements and hazards, a treated vehicle stays cleaner longer and cleans so much easier, especially bugs, droppings, etc. I had my current Silverado coated when purchased two years ago. My son had his Dodge Durango treated upon purchase about 2 1/2 years ago. My '14 E350 Cab, which I sold to my dealer in August when ordering the SL, was coated right after I bought it. The first question that my sales rep and the sales manager asked was about what had been done to make the paint look so nice. I explained and gave them a product brochure. Right after the dealership bought it, a customer called wanting an E Cab, but said that it had to be the 550. Upon arrival and seeing my car parked at the front door, he had to have it. That car was Steel Grey.
Streamliner, I will gladly share with you and anyone else what I paid, but I think it would be much more interesting to, first, make a guess once the information on these products is read, which is provided in the links that I included in the above post.

Bored with Arctic cold in NC; so, I played around in garage and took this photo of the projected logo, and a two-second video of my SL550 starting...but, 50 on Monday and 72 by Friday! The top will drop!
I almost said: it sounded like you were starting your lawn mower ! haha ! - Just teasing, my SL450 does it too - seems that if really Rev's up upon initial start - Neighbors liked it as it
was an alarm clock early in the morning - but Now that its Snow-bound, the neighbors are sleeping late !
Enjoy your car, hopefully snow will melt by Friday and i can see it again !
Holy SL Batman! You own a 100k auto and don't have a garage?
Had a garage, I like nature, a snow blanket is like an igloo ! A natural rain car wash too ! Some winters we don’t even have snow !
Many times it would winter in Florida, then if up north my 2017 Lincoln MKX - 4 wheel drive is my ride of choice !
may reach 50 later this week .

You said, it but I thought it. The last time I had an expensive car and no garage was when I was young and lived at home. I worked through high school and bought a new '62 Vette when I was 18. We only had a single car garage which my dad put his Buick in. At least I didn't have to drive it in the winter, I bought a $50 car which I sold in the spring. Good luck pminnrt.

Actually, I would rather keep my Maybach and Cobra in the garage ! They are just a hair more precious to me !

We just down sized our Ohio house, since I'm too old to play with old cars anymore. I don't ride bikes any longer, after 58 years of riding and racing. Ten days before we left for Florida we moved into a new home. Anyway, we had a 3 car attached garage and this 2 story 32X48 detached garage. I feel very fortunate to have owned some pretty amazing vehicle in my life, mostly hot rods and muscle cars. Now I spoil myself with my SL. The car under the cover is a '65 Plymouth 2dr post Hemi. I hope I didn't offend anyone, sorry if I did.

Thanks for sharing your cool photo, Phil! I enjoyed seeing the snow, which is a rarity for us. We did just have a snow, but it was only close to an inch so it is gone. I hope you get to enjoy your Cardinal later this week!
