SL/R231: First Road Trip
It has been wonderful. Let me count the ways.
1. Most important the wife is comfortable. Me too but I'm easy.
2. I've had a few fast cars; Olds 442, Porsche 944, BMW Z3, Challenger RT but none so easily got up to speed as the SL. No drama just mash the right foot, count to one, and off it goes. The others did it with noise and a shutter like they were showing off. The SL just gets to the spot you want as if it was its idea in the first place.
3. Gas mileage is much better than I anticipated. Getting combined 25-26 mpg per day and it's not all highway driving.
4. Noise level with top up or down is pleasing.
5. Comand function is not hard but I haven't mastered everything yet.
6. Trunk is a little smaller than I thought but that's good. We won't buy as much crap we don't need. Every time we take the CTS we come home with the trunk full and stuff in the back seat.
7. Gets notices at every stop.
Only negative is hood warning screen has shown up a couple times when it is secure. It likes to be slammed a little.
Oh yea, I wish the exhaust was a little more menacing.
On US 128 just north of Moab, UT. This is a great road!
