Do not know about the SL, but I recently replaced two in my Parent's car, a c300. Bought the parts on Pelican.

Yes, in a 2016 300 c class, the car has 2 filters. One for the air inlet for the cabin in the engine compartment, and one under the glovebox. And yes the SL has a gigantic air cabin filter. It is double the thickness of one of the air engine filters! Many videos of how to change them. The new SL may have two, you will have to ask a new 2017-2018 owner
